Cow, Researcher, and Security

Roblox names three roles: Cow hunts the other players, Researcher hides and exposes the cow, and Security protects researchers by eliminating it. Fandom additionally describes the transformed knife-cow model, a dropped Security gun that researchers can collect, and a friendly-fire death penalty. Those detailed mechanics are community claims from one publisher.

Knife: melee or throwable

Fandom’s Moo Moo page describes the transformed cow as a melee threat. moomoomystery.wiki and moo-moo-mystery.wiki both say the knife can be thrown, and one of them names the E key. The descriptions differ in coverage; a page that does not discuss throwing is not evidence against it. If you are Security, the useful part is the same either way: the cow model appears when the knife comes out.

Common mistakes the wikis repeat

Security shooting a teammate is described as a mutual death, not a warning slap. Researchers who scatter make the cow’s job easier; the identify page ranks “sticking together and calling the transform” above camping a corner. Cow players who transform in a lit hallway hand Security the round, according to the Fandom Moo Moo description of the win condition.

What I checked

Source scope: official role goals come from Roblox. Shapeshifting, dropped guns, friendly fire and XP are described on Fandom. The one-Cow and one-Security headcount is a community claim. Knife-throw descriptions in other wikis add a mechanic that Fandom does not discuss; silence is not proof that throwing is impossible.
